今（5日）為端午連假第三天，很多人已經出門遊玩回來收心，但對某些交通運輸業的人員來說幾乎沒有休息，都在崗位上為大家服務；近日一名退休的老司機員，慌張跑到運轉室找主管請假，還不停說「拍謝」，台鐵副主任也非常配合，暖心拿假單準假，這樣的故事讓網友相當感動。

有位台鐵員工近期在臉書社團「台鐵家族」中發文，表示在端午節下班當天，看到一名退休快40年的前司機員，在兒子的攙扶下，慌張走進運轉室，想找運轉副主任請假，一旁的兒子也解釋，因為父親失智的關係，認為端午連假要加班開車，結果卻忘了上班，才慌慌張張來找副主任請假。
在了解事發過程後，該名副主任也暖心拿出假單，配合老翁完成請假手續並安撫，過程中，老翁不停道歉感到相當愧疚，在完成簽名後，老翁才安心離開台鐵局彰化機務段。

原PO在分享完故事後感動表示，縱使這位老前輩已經退休40年了，但記憶深處卻沒忘記，自己曾是台鐵的一份子，還知道連假沒來上班要請假，看了非常溫馨與感動，也許這是他一輩子唯一的工作，退休40年還是以這份工作為榮，原PO還幽默說道「各位年輕同仁，如果數十年後我去機務段說要請假，千萬別把我趕出機務段。」
